A couple of things about that chrome spray paint I used on the wheels. Finger prints tarnish the finish. Do not try to buff it out or it will turn a dull gray. If you try to clear coat them they will also turn a dull gray. If you mess up the finish you can always give them a second coat. Mine have many coats. Fortunately only a small portion of the wheels are visible and since they will not be turning I can always have the best side showing. You can also hide the ugly ones inboard.
Axles: Cheap wooden dowel segments with wood screws and washers at one end. I was going to have washers and screws at both ends but at about this point I decided to make my own side panels and the design I came up with did not allow for any protrusion. More on the side panels further on.
Knee plates: Not much to say here. MDF with the edge rounded by a router. If only all of life was as easy as making knee plates. Here they are being primed while sitting on six-pack carriers. Sometimes the most useless garbage comes in handy. One thing I've learned on this project is don't throw away anything. I have repeatedly found that what I thought was scrap has turned out to be the most useful supplies elsewhere on the robot or even just for buidling assembly jigs.
